…more H&M.

Talking so much about the big store H&M in the last post, I've been inspired by a H&M's outfit that I wore yesterday in order to show you here by now. 

So, do you want to get a foothold in the last trend? bet on a cape! Although it seems that we step back to 30 years ago with this item, we are wrong. As everyone of us knows fashion trends go back and forth over the years, and it's not a surprise that you could get a cape from your mother or even your grandma. Personally talking…I have a wonderful cream-white cape from my mother, and believe me they are not old-fashioned at all. 

But today I would like to suggest a cape from H&M (because of course my mother's cape is impossible to get nowadays….unless you've got a personal tailor or you can made by yourself!- I do not dismiss the idea-)

And here you have: matching with a hat in the same color make your outfit a smart-casual look out of ordinary, from my point of view. 

You can get a cap from any shop and from any shape cause they are  becoming a must-have in your wardrobe. This black hat is from H&M from the last autumn-season (€9,95). The cape is from this season, and you can get it for €49.95. The trousers are a mix of leggins and jeans, and they are so comfortable, from H&M (€9,95). 

And the perfect combination detail: this stylish loose white plain shirt. The perfect detail is that you can tie a bow with the shirt's neck and this will be shown by outside the cape. 

And finally: my mother's black boots with a fur grey bracelet on it; and this practical black hand-bag, from Primark (€14).

Isabel Marant for H&M

How I've promised, here I'am again with a new post! and WoW! What post :)

 

Since H&M decided to invite an internacional and a well-known designer to create a capsule collection every year, all of us wait impatiently this day will arrive.

The last 14th of november H&M launched the 2013's VIPs collection, by the french designer Isabel Marant. The same day in the very early morning there was plenty of people waiting at the door for the big opening of the shops that had the opportunity to show and introduce the new collection. 

Isabel Marant is a French house of fashion founded in 1994 by the same Isabel. The company has 10 shops worldwide.  And now we can get one ítem with the firm of Isbel Marant for less than 199 euros thanks to the agreement made between her and the big store "H&M", launching a low cost collection inspirated and made with the same spirit that Isabel does every year in her haute couture. 

And none of the ítems have not disappointed: from womenswear and menswear to teen and accessories. 

In the accompanying lookbook, Alek Wek, Lou Doillon, Milla Javovich and Constance model pieces that echo Marant's parisian boheman aesthetic perfectly. An embellished trophy jacket is worn with leather cropped trousers, a loose peasant top with printed jeans, and mannish outerwear with white trousers and slouchy boots with fringer detailing.

There is more than 100 ítems, but I've collected the ones I really love. Of course I would like to purchase all of them, but following this idea, I must buy any article my eyes love, and that's not healty for my upper budget.

We start from head.  A wonderful textured cream jersey or sueter with textures and colour decoration;  and it seems to be so warm! On the other hand,  these loose trousers, perfectly matched with a tight black t-shirt and a dizzy hight-heels. 

And of course our basic of this new and frozen season: boots. The first ones are really really really cool, and they have been the reason of madness for most women. but actually  I prefer the second ones. The silver bracelet around the boot has pesuaded me. 

Now, if you have a black back-less dress, you can buy this perfect necklace. The normal combination would be to let fall it by your neck, but I suggest a new trend by myself: wear it at the opposite side, I mean, let the gold necklace fall by your naked back. 

 And like always, the best for the last: the whim of the collection: 

Do you know the French haute couture's designer BALMAIN? Of course you know. The epitome of rock-chic glam with and element of couture, is the brand that everybody wants to be seen wearing. If you let yourself to be introduced in his dazzling architectural dresses and ítems, you will never come back. Is one of my favorites designers, I specially love his wool and silk miniskirts in multiple electric colours.

Yes, I know, they are completely different (specially the prince) but something is something, isn't it?

Stronger*

Hello everyone! yes, I know. I do apologize …too many time without any update. But actually I have a excuse: I've been working so hard the whole summer. Yes, "work". This word which is so difficult to struggle with day-to-day. 

but I am back! and now…with all the word's time.  I would like to talk, criticize and evaluate every issue is happening in this crazy world we are living in. 

I have news on my own life as well. I am studying with too much enthusiasm the russian language. I feel very excited and I don't know exactly how I will introduce this knowledge in my future but right now I really love it. Is completely new, difficult and so trendy. 

in the meantime…I am posting from home, Spain (by the moment…), and I'am starting with Isabel Marant for H&M tomorrow…

Summer holidays.

Are you planning your next holidays? Do not you know where is the best place to go? Is it better to visit first your country heritage? Or going abroad and explore cultures is the better option always? 

In this post I would like to suggest some destination depending on the treats and expectation of everyone. 

OPTION 1

My first option is, and I guess it  always will be the same, Ibiza. It is still spring but you already can feel the warm and the hot weather around us. Summer time. Summer is time to spend with your friends, with a cool beer and to sunbathe in a unspoiled beach with the only worry of the possible jelly-fish's sting. Ibiza is an island situated in Balears, Spain. Widely-known as a clabbers delight, I can say in his defense that you can find the charming without take any pill or being permanently drunk.  Personally talking, I have a lot of haunts there, magical beaches and of course the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. If you are planning your holidays abroad with your friends and you are looking for some relax but at the same time enliven any night with party, Ibiza is the best choice for you and your friends. There you will find unspoiled and marvelous beaches with crystal clear water where you can rest under the sun the whole afternoon or if you prefer you can practice scuba divine or even deep fishing.

After a day spent on the beach, I recommend you to go to appreciate the perfect present that nature could ever give you: a sunset. Around 9 o'clock is time to get into your car or motorbike (if you do not rent a car you are dead in that island) and go though hills until you arrive to the perfect place to get the big picture. Remember a name: Cala d'Hort (beach) and Es Vedrà ( sunset- search for web-pictures. Is the perfect scenic landscape). 

At night, is you are tired or more romantic felt you can choose: going out or going to see the stars. The latter is a good option when you have gone out and you have flirted out with some one and you would like to impress her/him. So, take note of this place: Punta Galera. Actually is, for me, the best place to see the stars (if you are lucky and is not a full-moon night, because if it is, there is too light, but perfectly you can see it, do not worry). 

Ibiza is the queen of the party. There are some many places to go. Even in one month there you cannot visit all of them. But in the big picture, there are two kinds of party: the big and famous club, or small but friendly pubs in San Antoni de Portmany. There is a large street called "west" filled with tourists and bars. Pacha, Privilege, Space: They are the posh clubs. From my point of view and my own experience there, I should say that I have been in all of them, but I really prefer the small bars in San Antoni, with an exception: Flower Power of Pacha. it is "the party". If you like the nineties and eighteen music you will enjoy it for sure. This party take place every thursday in Pachá, in Ibiza city. 

So, this is my suggestion for the crazy- summer- friendly holidays. You just have to buy a flight, fill your luggage with swimsuits and your camera to immortalize every perfect moment. 

Do not hesitate to visit FORMENTERA. The best unspoiled island in the world. You can get a boat in Ibz's harbour and spend just a day there hiring a cycle or a motorbike.  Just...amazing :) 

OPTION 2

Every time more it is becoming famous to backpacking the south-west of America. This is the typical travel that you must do once-in-a-life time.  A route though Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, visiting keys destinations as Las Vegas, Los Ángeles. But this is the kind of travel that you have to plan before going to have everything tied: how many days you will spend in each country, rent the traditional Mustang to make your way, reserve the hotels and of course plan a map with everything you MUST visit. if you hate waking late and walking a lot, do not do this plan, because this kind of holidays is prepared for those people who want to make the most of these days by visiting everything they have time to. If you prefer relax, go to option 1!

HOLIDAY HOME

The "cheap option" is of course, stay at home. There is a lot of people (I could be included in the group) that prefer to go abroad when actually they do not know so much about his own country or city. Now you have the opportunity to take advantage of your days-off and visit your surroundings. I am sure that wherever you live near you have a lot of heritages and landmarks to visit. Plan a map and visit them. To go abroad and visit another countries you should know yours because, what happened when citizens from another country ask you about your country and you do not know nothing at all?

St Paul's Cathedral.

One of the charming of St Paul's Cathedral is that you can see it from any alley near the landmark. How  is it possible? First of all, because it is surprisingly big and marvelous. 

St Paul's is a bic church that sits at the top of Ludgate hill, the highest point in the City of London. The church that you can visit nowadays dates from the 17th century: after the famous Great Fire of London in 1666 the Cathedral was involved in a big rebuilding program. 

The cathedral is one of the most famous and most recognizable sights of London. Until 1962 it was the tallest building in London. Nowadays his dome continues being one of the highest in the world.

Due being in the City of London, it is funny to see between 12 to 1pm how office's workers go to have lunch in the small but quite cathedral yard in these sunny days. 

Next to the cathedral, glued to her, you can go to visit the Millennium bridge. It is a steel suspending bridge that crosses the river Thames. In the film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood prince is showed how the Millennium bridge is destroyed. If you cross the bridge, on the opposite side, you can visit the Tate Modern museum, the most-visited art modern gallery around the world. 

Back to the Cathedral, I suggest better you to visit the Museum of London, close the cathedral as well (just 300 meters from the church - in Barbican Centre-). Is a good way to know about the history of London and the UK in general. You will get acquainted with tools, clothes, traditions from the prehistoric times to day-to-day.

Fancy* by Topshop

I can't wait to show you my weekly fancy. I found this amazing blue dress with pearls on the sleeve last week in Topshop. It costs around 65 pounds but the price is so worth. I could not found it on the web so I show you with my personal photos. It suits perfectly but it is too smart, so you should wear it in a special event or glamorous party.

Greenwich Mean Time. The global hour.

You should know that Greenwich is a borough of London known because it lies the Greenwich Mean Time. It is a term originally referring to mean solar time at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich. As the UK grew into an advanced maritime nation (Greenwich is well known for it as well), British mariners kept at least one chronometer on GMT -Greenwich Mean Time- in order to calculate their longitude from the Greenwich meridian. The greeenwich meridian was considered, by convention in the USA) to have longitude zero degrees in 1884. So, this marine's practice, combined with mariners from other nations drawing from "Nevil Maskelyne's" method of lunar distances based on observation at grenwich, eventually led to GMT being used worldwide as a reference time independent of location. That is why most countries set up their time or number of hours ahead of GMT or behind GMT. 

So, we can know and say that the global hour is original from London, as many things are. In Greenwich borough you can visit the Royal Observatory of Greenwich and his history. From there there is the laser that is marking the prime meridian. 

And from Greenwich to the Elizabeth tower. Surely you should know it but with another name, the original but the old name: The tower of clock (most known as Big Ben, but Big Ben is the name of the bell, not the tower). From 2012 is was re-named with Elizabeth tower in commemoration to Queen Elizabeth in his Diamond Jubilee year event. 

Is one of the most famous landmarks of London and surely the most visited by tourists in their trips. It lies together with The Parliament of London (the famous parliament, because it is the origin of most bi-cameral governments in the world) and next to them there is the huge Westminster Abbey (highly recommended to visit, but 18 pounds to get in. Maybe because Darwin is buried inside? Do not know). 

The connexion of Big Ben with The Greenwich meridian is that the Clock gives us the global hour 0 in the world. If you want to have the exact hour in your wrist clock (or pocket clock as english style) you can stand front of the Elizabeth Tower and set it.

Curiosity: the Greenwich meridian passes through the UK, France, Spain, Algeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Ghana and Queen Maud Land in Antarctica. So, being in the same meridian as the UK (the 0 meridian), why Spain has different hour? (and specially one hour more?). The answer comes returning back in Franco's era. The dictator Fsco. Franco had few like-ability to English people from the UK. If we add the fact that the dictator did everything agreed with german's dictator, Hitler, we find the solution here: Franco unilaterally decided to change the original hour that we had and swapped for german hour. So, we have different hour from English people from Franco's times only and because of him. And it is curious that any government before has not change it.
